Assam Govt launches ‘Sanskar’ - a programme to generate awareness against superstitions
GUWAHATI: In view of incidents triggered by sheer ignorance and superstitions in the state in the last few months, Chief Minister Sonowal introduced a programme –‘Sanskar’.
A decision to start the programme has been taken at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal at the conference room of his office in Janata Bhawan.
It may be noted that following the tragic death of two Guwahati youths in Karbi Anglong District of the state on Friday last, Sonowal spoke to their fathers and apprised them of the programme.
The fathers of the deceased have also advocated for generating awareness throughout the State so that the society can be empowered to create a shield against the recurrence of such incidents in future.
Taking Assam Science Technology and Environment Council as the nodal agency, the programme will encompass all Deputy Commissioners, Superintendents of Police and all concerned government departments in all districts of Assam.
Moreover, all local bodies, Mahila Samiti, voluntary organizations, media persons, leading citizens, academicians, MPs and MLAs from ruling and opposition parties will be the stakeholders of the programme.
