CM Free Diagnostic Scheme extended to 946 hospitals
GUWAHATI: From 13th September, free blood test service, originally started in 2017 as part of Chief Minister's Diagnostic Service scheme will be available in another 134 community health centres and 946 public health centres of Assam.
This was recently announced by state minister for health Dr. Himanata Biswa Sarma.
“The Chief Minister's free diagnostic scheme has benefitted 14,36,99 patients so far. Today, we are going to expand the scheme to another 946 hospitals,” informed Sarma.
The scheme has so far covered 25 district hospitals, 14 sub-divisional hospital and 37 community health centres. Total 9.18 lakh patients have availed free lab service till 11 Sept 2018. The recent expansion will benefit poor families by reducing their out of pocket medical expenses, said Sarma.
