We will not take Illegal Migrants in BTAD: Pramila Rani Brahma
GUWAHATI: The BJP coalition partner Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) have stated that it won’t take any illegal migrants in the BTAD areas.
BPF leader and cabinet minister Pramila Rani Brahma has said that the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill will not influence the Bodoland.
“I respect the sentiments of the Assamese people, but in BTAD (Bodoland Territorial Area Districts) we are not taking it as an issue as it will not affect our areas. And even if the bill is passed we will not take any illegal migrants. This is our decision,” said Brahma.
BPF with its 12 MLAs is a coalition partner in the BJP-led Assam government.
