National seminar on 'Exodus of Rohingyas and its Implications on Assam' at AIMT

As a part of its annual flagship event, CONVENSTER 2K17, the Department of Mass Communication of Asian Institutions of Management and Technology (AIMT) is organising a National Seminar-cum-Academic Discussion on “Exodus of Rohingyas from Rakhine State of Myanmar: Implications for Assam” on November 25.

Senior journalist Rajeev Bhattacharyya, spokesperson from BJP Meera Borthakur, spokesperson from Congress Mukul Sarmah, spokesperson from RSS Ranjib Sharma, General Secretary of All Assam Students Union Lurinjyoti Gogoi, noted social thinker Prof Ismail Hussain have already confirmed their participation in the seminar, which will be moderated by senior journalist Mrinal Talukdar. 
The program will be conducted at the Seminar hall of AIMT, the seminar will start from 9.30 AM on 25th November. 

AIMT will also award two journalists (one each from both print and electronic) from the State. The last day of the submission of entries has been fixed on November 22. For more details, interested journalists can visit

The inaugural day of the two-day event, November 24, will witness a photography exhibition and competition, PICTOGRAM 2017. Students from different colleges of the state have been invited to take part in the event, registration of which will be done free of cost and on the spot. The theme of the PICTOGRAM 2017 for CONVENSTER 2K17 will be on topics like Portrait, Social Responsibility, Fashion and Vintage.
