Assam: Speeding Train Kills Leopard
GUwAHATI: A speeding train has killed one leopard on 20th December, near Melamati railway track in Titabor.
The leopard was identified as a female of nearly 4-5 years. The cremation of the body will be done in Forest Reserve in Meleng. This was informed by the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) to G Plus.
"I got information from railway department about the incident at around 10.30 pm. It happened near Melamati railway track, a train came rushing by
and unfortunately hit the leopard who was crossing the track. We did post-mortem of the body and it was confirmed as a train accident." said the DFO Khagesh Pegu.
