GUWAHATI: Avoiding anti-CAA protesters, Assam State Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took an aerial route to travel a distance of 5 kilometres from Tezpur airport to reach an event venue.

According to reports, Himanta Biswa went to Tezpur Goroimari area to attend a tribute function in honour of Late Rajen Borthakur, the BJP MLA from Rongapara constituency who died on December 10.

It is to be mentioned that the minister decided not to travel by road for the event and take a helicopter ride as several locals and members of the All Assam Students' Union (AASU) staged a protest on NH 15 against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).
