Banks to remain open on 31st March
Several reports surfaced on the social media during the last weekend stating that banks will remain closed for continuous five days starting March 29th.
The news created a lot of chaos among the public, as it was speculated that ATMs would also run short of cash due closure of banks.
Ending all the rumours and confusion, it was announced that banks in the country will work on Saturday, March 31st.
According to reports, D. Thomas Franco Rajendra Dev said, "The banks will work on Saturday and there is no continues holidays as per messages surfacing on social media."
“Banks are only closed on 2nd and 4th Saturdays. On 2nd April, banks will remain closed for the annual closing of accounts,” he further added.
Speaking to G Plus, an official at State Bank of India, said, “As per information till now, we only have holidays on Friday and Monday. Circular related to the same is yet to be released.”
