Guwahati Restaurateur hit to death by car; Police unable to trace details even after 48 hours
In a sensational incident that happened in Jayanagar area of Guwahati on 13th January, Uruka night, a man was intentionally ran over by a vehicle. The person was later identified as Bhupinder Singh, manager of Nagameez restaurant.
According to reports, the victim who was inhumanly hit by an Innova car, succumbed to his injuries even before the ambulance arrived at spot.
Reports also stated that the driver of the Innova car was accompanied by two females who insti
gated him to hit Bhupinder, after the two parties got into a verbal argument over parking of their vehicle. The females who were reportedly drunk were heard asking the driver to hit Bhupinder wit the car, said reports.
According to eye witnesses, the car sped off after hitting Bhupinder Singh.
Speaking to G Plus, O.C of Basistha Police Station C.N Bora said, "We are not being able to trace any details of the car or the people in the car. Bhupinder's family members who filed the FIR could not give us any details either. Our investigation is on, but as of now, we have no details to give." The O.C also said that the CCTV footage could only capture the side view of the car, which is making it difficult for the police to get hold of the culprits.
It is to be noted that it's been more that 48 hours of the incident which happened at a busy road of the city. The only information that police could get is that the car belonged to AS-01-GE series.
