Guwahati: Visitors Barred from Entry, Live Screening for Tarun Gogoi's Funeral
GUWAHATI: Thousands of people gathered in the Navagraha road to witness the last rites of the former Chief Minister (CM) of Assam Tarun Gogoi.
However, not all could witness the last rites as the police barred entry after crossing the field.
Instead, TV screens have been set up to display the last rites being observed live. Hundreds of people are seated in the field where they are watching the funeral live. Some have even offe
red their prayers from the field itself.
Many locals were seen arguing with the police and other volunteers after being denied to visit their houses. Few even wanted to offer flowers to the mortal remains but were denied entry.
G Plus spoke to a Police official who stated that only select few people are allowed in the crematorium premises. They have revealed that there is no specific time for which the cremation will continue.
