Modi Govt Houses Maximum Number Of IAS Officers From Assam-Meghalaya Cadre
GUWAHATI: IAS officers from Assam and Meghalaya cadre dominate the top postings in the Modi government in New Delhi.
Based on an RTI reply from the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), from the 370 IAS officers of the joint secretary rank and above in the central government, 33 of them are from Assam and Meghalaya cadre, which is the maximum for any of the 26 IAS cadres in India.
Following officers from these two northeastern states are officers from the Uttar Pradesh cadre with 27 officers, Madhya Pradesh with 25 officers and Bihar with 22 officers.
