Nagaon Woman Traffic Cop Braves Heavy Downpour, Earns Kudos
GUWAHATI: A female constable of Nagaon traffic branch garnered online praise for being committed towards her duty.
Woman police constable Ronjula Devi gained attention on social media after photographs surfaced of her managing traffic despite heavy rainfall in Nagaon.
Devi’s dedicated efforts further gained notice when ace sprinter Hima Das who commended her on Twitter. Das shared pictures of Devi managing traffic amidst rainfall and wrote:
“I salute the dedication of women traffic police personnel who is managing traffic despite heavy rain in my hometown Nagaon district. #womenempowerment”
Nagaon police also appreciated her commitment and felicitated her. They posted on Twitter: “Nagaon Police appreciate WPC Ronjula Devi, Nagaon Traffic Branch for her devotion towards duty. We also thank @HimaDas8 for appreciating her for he dedication and making us proud. Kudos.”
It is to be mentioned that this is the second such incident which has come to light in Assam in the recent past.
Prior to this, Mithun Das, a traffic cop from Guwahati ruled social media as he braved a heavy downpour in the city. A video captured earlier showed Mithun continuously managing traffic during rush hour, which was made all the more difficult as it was accompanied by a heavy thunderstorm. Mithun, too, was felicitated for his commitment.
