Paresh Baruah's final warning to CM Sarbananda Sonowal
GUWAHATI: ULFA(I) C-in-C Paresh Baruah unhappy with the Assam government has warned BJP Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal for initiating police case against Marxist, literary critic, poet and social scientist Hiren Gohain.
In a telephonic statement to a media house, the ULFA(I) leader warned that if Sonowal does not stop acting against the interest of Assam he should be ready to face dangerous circumstances. Barua also asked the Sonowal government to not muzzle the voices of intellectuals who have been speaking for the rights of the Assamese people as it is a democratic right to express oneself.
The Latasil Police on Thursday, January 10, booked Hiren Gohain, for his “Independent Assam” speech in Guwahati.
