GUWAHATI: Terming the Indian Army as "very conservative", Chief General Bipin Rawat stated that gay sex is forbidden and not acceptable in the Indian army.

Addressing the annual press conference General Rawat said, "Aap logon me chalega to chalne do. Humare yahan nahi chalega (might work outside, but this will not happen in the Army)."

On the Supreme Court ruling on Section 377, General Rawat stated that things are different for army personnel but the army is certainly not above the Supreme Court.
