Tender Petals Preschool, a venture of Inner l Foundation Pvt. Ltd (IIFPL) in association with DN Acharya Foundation, organized a Walkathon for Children’s Health Awareness- “Walk For Our Children” as a part of their Children’s Day Program on Sunday 12th November 2017 at Zoo Narengi Road.
The prime objective of the walkathon was to foster children as ambassadors of good health, through physical activities and sports. It is very evident in today’s world of gadgets that children refrain from outdoor activities which is an integral part of their physical and mental health.
The Children Health Awareness Walkathon (phase 1) happened on 4 th Nov in Tender Petals, Tezpur city from Ban Theatre ground and will be winded up by a walkathon from the Tender Petals Azara Centre (phase 3) said Vasavi Acharya Bora, M.D IIFPL.
Several organizations were invited to participate in the walkathon, such as Moksha, Khoon an NGO, Save Water etc. Students from different colleges across the city such as Guwahati Commerce College, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, ICON Academy, Faculty HS etc. also participated in the event.  Tender Petals school students along with their parents attended the event in large numbers to spread the awareness for the need of an active and energetic future generation.
The Walkathon was flagged off from the Tender Petals Ground at Zoo Narengi Road by the Chief Guest of the event IAS Rajiv Kumar Bora (Additional Chief Secretary, Govt. Of Assam). Many distinguished personalities such as Srutimala Duara (HOD, Englsih, Handique Girls College), Asha Kuthari Chaudhari  (Professor, English, Guwahati University), Diganta Borah (DIG), and Tinat Atifa Masood (Writer, Anchor) were also present during the event.
“This was a truly unique effort to bring into focus the real issues of today’s young generation such as childhood obesity, improper nutrition, screen addiction and lack of ample physical exercise. We have been organizing Carnivals from the past few years for children to provide them a platform of interaction and provide them a platform to showcase their talents”, said Vasavi Acharya Bora, Managing Director of Inner I Foundation Pvt. Ltd.
