2-day festival, Northeast Fiesta held in Jalandhar, Punjab
GUWAHATI: A two-day long event, the 4th edition of the Northeast Fiesta was held from April 20 and 21 by the Northeast Students’ Organisation, Jalndhar in association with Viva Collage Jalandhar.
The aim of the event was to celebrate culture, connect people and transform lives. This event is the biggest carnival of Northeast India in Punjab and was organised to showcase the cultural diversity of all the northeastern states of India to the people of Punjab with a cultural exchange program to foster integrity, prosperity and excellence.
In the festival, handicraft, handloom, art, traditional sport, photography and a tourism exhibition was presented from all the eight states. All the states also presented their traditional folk music and dance. A few northeast-based music bands and bands from Jalandhar participated on both days as well.
A discussion session on relevant topics of Northeast was discussed and eminent speakers from various startups such as Zerocubes Studios,Totell, Axom Arunachal resort and nursery from Northeast region spoke about the importance of trade and commerce in the Northeastern region.
Dr. Jai Inder Singh was the chief guest of the event and SDM of Phagwara, Punjab congratulated students for bringing cultural diversity of the Northeast to Punjab and expressed his best wishes.
"Northeast Fiesta is a platform to bridge the gap between the Northeastern States of India and showcase the cultural beauty of the respective states to the people here in Punjab and also provide a platform for young talented designers, singers and many more," said Komal Chutia, Head of Media and Publicity, Northeast Fiesta 2019.
