19 Local Artisan Units of Assam Receive Rs 244.50 Lakh For Upgradation
GUWAHATI: After a recent audit of the Industry and Commerce Department, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has applauded the efforts of the department towards the development of the local artisans of Assam.
Under the Mukhya Mantrir Thalua Udyog Bikash Achani (MMTUBA), the Commissionerate of Industries and Commerce have allotted financial help to 19 units of artisans for procurement of tools and equipment of the craft.

iaries have been allotted a total of Rs 244.50 lakh as funds under the MMTUBA scheme.
The units that have benefitted from the scheme are from across Assam and involved in activities like terracota, Sital Pati, Blackmithy, Japi craft, Water Hyacinth, Cane and Bamboo, Pottery, Wood Craft and Decorative textile, Brass metal, Wood Craft and Assamese Jewellery.
