1st North East India Open Tennis Championship to be held in Guwahati

The 1st North East India Open Tennis Championship will be organized by Racquets and Balls Tennis Association in collaboration with Kreeda Bharati and Sports Authority of India from 29th October-3rd November'2017 at Sports Authority of India, Guwahati.
The initiative is to maintain the legacy of ace tennis player, Late Ranjit Dutta and the idea of this tournament is to make ‘Northeast the hub of Tennis, for all’. 
“Sports are important in our lives and it imbibes certain qualities which is essential to lead a good life. It makes you mentally strong and physically fit,” said Alok Tripathi of Kreeda Bharati.
With the Chief Minister’s ambitious plans of making Guwahati the Sports Capital, this is a welcome move. The 6 day event will see participation of players from all across the country.
The opening ceremony will start on 29th October, at 6 PM and will be graced by Governor of Assam, Prof. Jagadish Mukhi.
