24 Migrants Dead in UP while Returning Home
GUWAHATI: In yet another tragic incident amongst homeward bound migrant labourers, 24 people died near Auraiya In Uttar Pradesh on 15th May.
The incident happened after the trailer truck they were travelling in collided with a DCM lorry.
Apart from the 24 deaths, 30 people were reportedly injured.
The migrant labourers were returning from Rajasthan to Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand and some parts of Uttar Pradesh.
UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced an ex-gratia amount of Rs. 2 lakhs each for the family members of the deceased and Rs. 50,000 each towards the injured labourers.
