347 People who Attended Nizamuddin Congregation are in Assam now: HBS
GUWAHATI: The state health and family welfare minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that a total of 347 people from Assam who attended the Nizamuddin congregation in Delhi are back in the state now.
He added that a total of 547 people from Assam were present in and around the area where the religious congregation was taking place in Delhi.
“Among these are 136 people who were those that were just crossing the area. Out of 547, 136 are not suspected prima facia, and 68 people have not returned to Assam. So roughly, 347 people are now in Assam who were in and around Nizamuddin area,” said the minister.
He further added that out of these 347 people, 230 have been identified till now and contact tracing is ongoing to locate the rest.
Additionally, 196 samples out of these 230 people have been sent to 5 medical colleges for testing.
