5 year old cases related to crime against women to be reopened
In a press meet held in city on Friday, Special DGP, Kuladhar Saikia, along with Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kamrup (M), Virendra Mittal, announced that all cases pertaining to crime against women across the state of Assam will be reopened and charge sheet related to the same will be filed soon.
It was also reiterated in the meeting that special women cell will be set up in all the districts of Assam and more women police officers will be employed in the Assam police Force.
The Officer-in-Charge of all the police stations of the state were ordered to take any sort of cases of crime against women strictly, and implement rapid investigation. Fast track courts will soon be set up in the districts of the state which will be responsible for the cases of rape, murder, and sexual abuse.
