500 Indigenous People Given 'Land Patta' in Guwahati Today

GUWAHATI: Guwahati Development Department (GDD) minister Siddharth Bhattacharya today distributed land allotment certificates to 500 indigenous people in Guwahati ceremoniously at the Pragjyotish ITA Centre, Machkhowa. Also present were MLAs of Dispur constituency, Atul Bora, West Gauhati constituency, Ramendra Narayan Kalita and Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup (M) Biswajit Pegu.

Speaking on the occasion, Bhattacharya said that the current BJP government has lived up to its pr
omise of protecting the land rights of the indigenous people. During its tenure, 2,28,000 indigenous people have been allotted 'land patta' in Assam. 


He further added that the state government has tried to simplify the procedures of allotment of land documents with the Kamrup Metropolitan administration.
