502 New COVID-19 Cases Reported in Guwahati Over Last 24 Hr
GUWAHATI: Guwahati city reported 122 new COVID-19 positive cases on July 1.
On June 30, Guwahati reported 380 COVID-19 cases and so the tally goes up to 502 in the last 24 hours.
Assam Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, on his Twitter handle wrote, “140 new #COVID19+ cases detected. I must mention that 122 out of these are from Guwahati City and it is my humble plea to all to strictly follow lockdown guidelines to be able to flatten the curve. No need to panic, however."
Effective June 29, Kamrup district has been under complete lockdown for the next 14 days in order to prevent the virus from spreading more within the community.
Meanwhile, Assam currently has 2,885 active cases with 5,647 patients already recovered.
