56,368 people affected by flood in Kamrup (Metro)

GUWAHATI: A total of 56,368 people were affected in Kamrup (Metro) district by the ongoing floods in Assam.

As per the daily flood report by the Assam State Disaster Management Authority as on July 16, water logging occurred in areas near Manasa mandir, Bharalumukh, Jalukbari and Uzan Bazar in Guwahati.  


Further, five villages in Guwahati, 19 in Sonapur, 4 in Azara and one village in Dispur have been affected by flood.

Further, the water level of Brahmaputra river at DC Court in Guwahati was measured at 51.16 meters at 9 a.m. this morning, July 16.

Presently, it is still above the prescribed danger level of 49.68 meters.
