Air India to start new flights to boost connectivity of North East
Air India on Friday announced new flights to boost connectivity of North East with the various cities of the country. These new flights will significantly catapult connectivity between north east cities, and their connectivity with major cities of the country. Air India will also be starting new flight between Guwahati and popular international tourist destination Bangkok. The flight will be operating thrice a week.
Air India CMD Mr. Ashwani Lohani announced the plans in an interaction with media at Guwahati.
Mr. Ashwani Lohani, CMD, Air India further added “Air India currently has a market share of 17% in North East and operates total 24 flight daily. Air India gets a value gap fund of INR 45 Cr from Government for North East.”
Air India will introduce new flights on the following routes as below:
• Guwahati- Bangkok/Kunming
• Kolkata- Guwahati
• New Delhi- Guwahati
• Guwahati- Dibrugarh- Pasighat from September 1st, 2017
• Delhi- Dibrugarh in November, 2017
• Guwahati-Mumbai/ Hyderabad in December,2017
Also boosting eastern India connectivity, Air India is starting new flight on Kolkata- Bhubaneshwar- Hyderabad and Kolkata- Bangalore- Kolkata route from June 10th, 2017.
