Air Passengers Traveling within Assam, Northeast to Not Undergo COVID-19 Test
GUWAHATI: The Assam government announced relaxation to air passengers on November 18, 2020.
From next week onwards, air passengers travelling within Assam and those travelling between northeast states will no longer require mandatory COVID-19 testing.
This was announced by Assam health and finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma through a social media post on Wednesday, November 18.
The minister further added that
incoming flight passengers shall undergo the COVID-19 test at the Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBI Airport) in Guwahati instead of Sarusajai Stadium.
Ever since flight services resumed (post COVID-19 lockdown), all passengers to and fro Assam were mandated to undergo test.
