GUWAHATI: The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has postponed the Combined Competitive (Main) Exam 2018, which was to begin from July 22.

This decision, which was taken on July 17, 2019, has been finalised due to the severe flood situation in the state.

The commission stated that many candidates who want to appear for the exam have been affected by the flood.

The Combined Competitive Examination is conducted for all eligible candi
dates and the commission aims that all candidates are able to sit in the examination.

The statement read, “ due to the prevailing situation created by the unprecedented flood, there is likelihood that a section of the candidates would be deprived of the opportunity of sitting in the examination which will render the competition incomplete and not fair.”

It also stated that under the circumstances and considering all other aspects like availability of venues and examinations conducted by other entities like the UPSC, the commission has decided to presently postpone the ensuing CC (Main) Examination, 2018.

It should be noted that these exams are being rescheduled.

However, the examination dates scheduled from August 2 to August 9 will remain the same. The detailed programme will be announced soon and candidates will be issued fresh e-admission certificate.
