Assam: 100 positive cases of Japanese Encephalitis (JE) detected till now
GUWAHATI: Umesh Phangcho, State Programme Officer, National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP) has stated that till now, 100 positive cases of Japanese Encephalitis (JE) have been detected in the state.
According to a report by ANI, 28 patients have also died because of this virus-borne brain infection.
It should be noted that earlier, the Health Ministry had dispatched a team here to review the situation after several cases were reported. The team is headed by Additional Secretary Sanjeeva Kumar, and includes senior officers from the National Vector Borne Diseases Control Programme, New Delhi.
