Assam Completes 20 Lakh COVID-19 Tests Across State
GUWAHATI: The government of Assam has left no stone unturned to ensure people of Assam are safe when it comes to fighting the novel coronavirus.
On August 24, the state completed 20 lakh COVID-19 tests over the past five months, taking Assam's per million tests to 58,356.
The first test lab of Assam was set up on February 7 and it took 114 days to complete the first one lakh tests.
The number of test labs
in Assam rapidly grew to 17 and the state successfully conducted 10 lakh tests within 8 weeks.
However, it took only 3 weeks for Assam to conduct the next 10 lakh tests.
On August 13, Assam conducted a record 1.43 lakh tests for COVID-19 in a single day.
Out of the total 20 lakh tests conducted so far, 92,619 persons have tested positive.
