Assam Declares State-Wide holiday on Gorkha festival ‘Bhai Tika’

GUWAHATI: The Assam government has declared a state-wide holiday on the occasion of the Gorkha festival 'Bhai Tika'.


 


Himanta Biswa Sarma, while addressing supporters in Mazbat town said that BJP President Ranjeet Dass had suggested declaring a holiday on the occasion. Sarma added that the BJP led Assam government had agreed upon the same.


The Bharatiya Gorkha Parisangh, a social organisation of Indian Gorkhas, welcomed the d
ecision of the Assam Government to declare Bhai Tika as a state holiday that falls on November 16.

    Will it be a holiday under NI Act 1881 too? I mean holidays for banks, insurance companies and other financial services sector.
