Assam Govt has Enough Funds to Fight Coronavirus Currently: Himanta Biswa Sarma
GUWAHATI: In a press conference on March 26, state health and family welfare minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed that the government has enough funds to fight the coronavirus pandemic as of now.
Informing media of the financial help extended by many politicians as well as common citizens of the state, Sarma said, "We have enough for the moment. However, if the proposed temporary hospital facility by L&T actually has to be constructed, we might have to ask for help from the people of the state."
He further informed that an account number will be provided by March 27 where people could donate for the cause.
Talking about the violators of lockdown, Sarma said, "I have asked the police department to release a helpline number where concerned people can complain about violators. The currently available 104 helpline number can also be used for such complaints, although the number actually is of the health department."
