Assam Man Arrested in Mumbai for Running Brothel
GUWAHATI: Mumbai Police has arrested Haneef Sharakali Uddin, a native from Assam’s Nagaon district, for running a brothel in Marine Lines, a prominent location in South Mumbai.
Acting on a tip off, the police raided a flat at Jorawar Bhavan and arrested Uddin. The team also rescued two girls who were forced into prostitution by Uddin.
Initially, the police had sent a decoy, who managed to befriend Uddin, and confirmed the functioning of the brothel at the flat.
As per reports, the girls were trafficked from Assam and Uddin was the caretaker of the flat while owner is in Malaysia.
