Assam Registers Low COVID-19 Positivity Rate for 4 Consecutive Days
Amid rising cases of COVID-19 in the state, Assam has been maintaining a low positivity rate since the past couple of days. What this means is that although the government has been conducting an increasing number of tests every day, the number of positive results have been relatively lower than before.
Assam recorded 1,585 fresh COVID-19 cases on Thursday, October 1. The cases were detected from all across the state, out of 39,780 COVID tests conducted. The positivity
rate for the infection stood at 3.98%.
"Alert ~ 1585 #COVID cases detected out of 39780 tests today. Our Positivity Rate continues to be low for 4th consecutive day (3.98% today)," tweeted Himanta Biswa sarma, health minister of Assam.
Earlier, the Assam government conducted random COVID -19 tests across Guwahati from 28th to 30th of September. The positivity rate remained low at 3.03% on September 28, 2.67% on September 29 and 2.41% on September 30 out of over 1 lakh tests conducted each day.
Previously, Assam had recorded a positivity rate of as high as 7.8%.
