Assam: Section 144 imposed around Kaziranga National Park
GUWAHATI: As the flood situation has worsened in Kaziranga National Park, the district administration has imposed Section 144 over NH-37.
As per reports, the curfew has been imposed in order to protect wild animals moving out of the forest areas to escape the inundated areas, as the water level rises.
Officials informed, “The section has been imposed due to the flood situation in the National Park. The animals might move out of the park towards the Karbi A
nglong side and towards the NH-37. So to reduce the speed of the vehicles on the NH-37, section 144 has been imposed.”
Further, for safety of the animals, the vehicles passing through the park area from Jakhalabandha to Numaligarh have been asked to maintain a speed limit of 40 kms/hour.
