Assam Villagers Rescue Rare Turtle; Hand Over to Forest Officials
GUWAHATI: In a recent incident, a rare turtle "Indian Peacock Softshell" was rescued under Kamrup West Forest Division in the Kukurmara area of Kamrup district, Assam.
The turtle was discovered by some villagers, who later handed it over to forest personnel. The turtle was in the custody of the forest department and was late released in the wild.
Guwahati Wildlife Division DFO Jayanta Deka confirmed the matter to G Plus.
