Assamese song Jiri Jiri Noi features in bollywood film

For the first time, a full length Assamese song has featured in a bollywood film. The song ‘Jiri Jiri Noi’ – composed by Sagar Desai and written by Rajdweep – is the only song in the recently released movie, ‘A Death in the Gunj’. 

The film stars Om Puri and Kalki Koechlin among others, and is the directoral debut of Konkana Sen Sharma. Although it has been screened in multiple film festivals across the glo

“I’m glad that my song was selected in the film. This is for the first time that a full length Assamese song has been featured in a Hindi film made in Mumbai. It was an opportunity for me to work in Bollywood and provide Assamese music at the national level,” an elated Rajdweep said.

The song ‘Jiri Jiri Noi’ has been creating ripples in the Hindi film industry. Sung by Promila Pradhan, it is being highly appreciated.
