Both BJP and Congress doing Dynasty politics in Silchar: Nazia Yasmin Mazumder (NPP)
GUWAHATI: Silchar is all set to poll on 18thApril for the second phase of Lok Sabha elections in the state. Both the Bharatiya Janata party and the Congress are fighting neck to neck with each other to gain the maximum mileage. The anti-incumbency factor of the sitting Congress MP Sushmita Dev makes the fight interesting for the Silchar Lok Sabha seat. The immediate rival for miss Dev is BJP's Dr Rajdeep Roy.
However, the newly-launched party in Assam, Nationalist Peoples Party (NPP) seems confident on taking the two biggies in this constituency. Nazia Yasmin Mazumdar who is contesting from the Silchar seat on NPP ticket said that both the BJP and Congress are playing dynastic politics in this constituency.
Speaking to G Plus, Yasmin said, “Barak valley needs development and the region is 50 years behind from the rest, no one paid attention to it for so many years, unemployment is at an all time high. The political parties who won this seat have failed to fulfill the aspirations of the people.”
“Both Sushmita and Dr. Rajdeep come from political families, both are running family politics as business and someone like me who has no political background needs to stand against it,” said the NPP candidate.
She also made it clear that the NPP stands clear on opposing the citizenship bill.
Silchar will go to polls on 18th (tomorrow) along with Karimganj, Autonomous District, Mangaldoi and Nowgong.
