Brahmaputra Literary Festival to be held in January

The Brahmaputra Literary Festival, 2017 is scheduled to be held at Guwahati from 28th January, 2017 with a three day programme at the Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra, Guwahati. For the smooth functioning of the Literary Festival a meeting of the Convenors and Members took place today at the Bhogeswari Phookonani Sports Complex at Dispur, Super Market. The meeting was presided over by Ajay Tiwari, Commissioner & Secretary, Higher Education, Assam. Smt. Rita Chaudhary, Director, National Book
Trust and Chief Organising Secretary, Ramesh Jain, Secretary, Secondary Education Department, Babulal Sarma, Director, Higher Education Department and Joint Organising Secretary along with the convenors and members were present during the meeting. The Commissioner  & Secretary discussed in detail about related duties of every sub committees and urged upon everyone to work fervently for its overall accomplishment. The Sub Committees of the Brahmaputra Literary Festival, 2017 are: Ceremonies and Carnival Sub-Committee Conduct Sub-Committee Reception Sub-Committee Food Sub -Committee Accommodation and Transport Sub-Committee Press and Media Sub-Committee Content Designing, Branding & Promotion Sub-Committee Documentation Sub-Committee Cultural Sub-Committee Venue Sub-Committee Security Sub-Committee The Brahmaputra Literary Festival, 2017 to be organised with the joint initiative of the National Book Trust and the Assam Government will be an attempt to promote regional creativity at the global literary scene. The organisers of the Festival to a large extent will give the much needed thrust to this direction, as the amalgamation of renowned thinkers and writers will come together under one platform.
