Case registered against four Businessmen by CBI in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: A case against four businessmen has been registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Guwahati branch in regards to demanding and accepting illegal gratification.
A case, No. RC 1(A)/2019-GWH on 10,02,2019 u/s 120B IPC and Section Sec. 7. 7(A), 8, 12 (PC) Amendment Act 2018 has been registered by CBI, Guwahati against four people- Lalchand Choudhury of Nagaland, Laxmi Narayan Sogani of Athgaon in Guwahati, Tony of Guwahati and Bendangnaro Ao of Dimapu

The case was filed on the allegation of demanding and accepting illegal gratification continuously from different private businessmen owning petrol pumps and kerosene oil dealerships for favouring them in the allotment of new retail outlets all over the Northeastern region including Assam. 

It should be noted that this news comes after the recent arrest of senior Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) official, Dibyajyoti Dutta who was caught red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs. 2 lakh from a woman here in Guwahati in connection to the allocation of a petrol pump.
