Chandrayaan 2 To Land On Moon On September 7: ISRO
GUWAHATI: Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Chairman K Sivan said on August 12 that India’s second lunar exploration mission will land on the moon on September 7.
Sivan added, “On 14th early morning, around 3:30, we are going to have a manoeuvre called trans-lunar injection, by this manoeuvre, Chandrayaan 2 will leave earth & move towards the moon.”
He further mentioned, “On 20 Aug, spacecraft will be reaching moon & we'll be car
rying out lunar orbit insertion, by this process, Chandrayaan 2 will be around moon on Aug 20, we plan to have series of manoeuvres around moon, finally on Sep 7 we'll be landing on moon, this is our plan.”
It is to be mentioned that Chandrayaan-2 is India’s second lunar exploration mission after Chandrayaan-1. Chandrayaan 2 took off aboard the most powerful GSLV-Mk-III rocket from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh on July 22.
