CM Sonowal Orders Probe into Allegation of Poor Quality Mid-Day Meal
GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has ordered a probe into the allegation of poor quality midday meal served to the schools by some NGOs in different parts of the state.
Body of cooks from all across the state have been demonstrating after the state government gave the mid-day meal scheme to NGO’s.
As per reports, CM Sonowal has asked the principal secretary of the food and civil supplies department, BR Shymal to carry out the probe and submit his report within one month.
After the Centre gave the scheme to NGOs, over 1 lakh cooks and helpers from different schools from the state became jobless.
Recently, 41 children fell ill after allegedly having mid-deal prepared by a blacklisted NGO at Baruahola High School in Assam’s Tinsukia district.
