COVID-19: India Crosses China's Tally, Over 85,000 Cases Reported
GUWAHATI: With the surge in the COVID-19 positive cases in India the total number of cases now stands at 85,940.
Maharashtra reported 1576 new cases on Friday, while Tamil Nadu recorded 385 and Gujarat 340. Earlier, India had 81,970 cases on May 14 to go past China’s figure of 84,032.
With China’s numbers have been rising at a snail’s pace for over two months now on the other hand India has witnessed a sudden spike in the COVID-19 positive graph.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump tweeted that his country would donate ventilators to India in its fight against Covid-19. "We stand with India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi during this pandemic."
