COVID-19: India Records Close to 7,000 New Cases in Last 24 Hours with 154 Deaths

GUWAHATI: The total number of COVID-19 positive cases in India rose to 1,38,845 with 6,977 new cases and 154 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours. The country now has 77,103 active cases as per the latest data released by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Maharashtra with 50,231 cases is the worst-affected state by the disease, followed by Gujarat with 14,056 cases.

The tally of COVID-19 positive cases in the national capital stands at 13,418 with 261 deaths recorded in New Delhi so far. 

 

In the south, Tamil Nadu has reported 16,277 cases with 111 deaths so far.

In Assam, with 35 new COVID-19 positive cases confirmed today by the Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma's latest tweet, the total tally has gone up to 427.
