Cultural Ministry plans to uplift Assamese Film Industry

In a press conference held by the Assam State Film Finance & Development Corporation Limited, Cultural Minister Naba Kumar Doley announced various measures to uplift the Assamese film industry.

With a budget of Rs 5 crores, 15 new cinema halls will be built across Assam. As many as 50 Assamese cinemas of the yesteryears will be digitalised and preserved for the coming generations. 

The minister also announced that the Jonaki Cinema Hall in the office of Film Corporation will be inaugurated by this year.

After a gap of 3 years, Assam Film Festival will be held this year, from 11th to 13th May.

Children Film Festival will also be held this year in the month of June-July. The dates of the festival are yet to be finalised.
