Cyclone Fani: Special Trains to Evacuate Tourists of Assam from Odisha

GUWAHATI: Many tourists from Assam, mostly gone for pilgrimage to Puri are stranded in the state of Odisha due to the cancelled rail services to and from Odisha due to Cyclone Fani.

Railways have announced three special trains for those tourists stranded in Puri with reserved and unreserved berths. The first train starts at 12 pm, the second at 3 pm and the last at 6 pm today, May 2. 

Finance and Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has urged the people of Assam stranded in Odisha to board the special trains provided by Railways to Howrah before May 3 for their own safety and security.
 
According to an ECoR official, the train is scheduled to make stoppages at Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Jajpur, Keonjhar Road, Bhadrak, Balasore, Kharagpur and finally Howrah.
