Drinking water crisis gives residents of Maligaon a tough time

During a time when the entire city gearing up to celebrate Durga Puja, residents of Maligaon are facing some tough time, searching for proper drinking water. Reportedly, residents of Maligaon are facing shortage of drinking water since last 3 months.


According to sources, the people of the area have approached the government officials multiple times, but didn't get any help. On the other hand, it has also been alleged that Guwahati Municipal Corporation has been taking Rs 140 in the name of drinking water provision from the residents of the area. 


The government officials have said that drinking water pumps have stopped functioning due to certain technical problems. The residents have also alleged that Himanta Biswa Sarma, and the BJP Government failed to stand upon the expectations of the people of the locality.
