Election Commission team to visit Assam, West Bengal, Tripura, Manipur
GUWAHATI: A team from the Election Commission is set to visit Assam, West Bengal, Tripura, and Manipur from March 16 to 19 to review poll preparedness.
The Lok Sabha elections will be held in seven phases from April 11 to May 19. The polling in Assam will take place in three phases on April 11, 18 and 23.
In a recent press meet after the election dates were announced, the deputy commissioner of Kamrup (Metro) Biswajit Pegu informed the media that there will be 1072132 total voters this time. Out of this 536070 are male while 534062 are female voters.
Further, 21884 new voters have been added in the voter’s list.
