Enthusiastic Guwahati Rises to the Occasion of PM's 9 PM Candle Light Call
GUWAHATI: PM Narendra Modi had appealed to the citizens to switch off electric lights at 9 pm on Sunday for 9 minutes, and light candles, diyas or flashlights while standing at their balconies or balconies on April 5.
Enthusiastic Guwahatians could not resist the occasion and went on to burst fire crackers in those 9 minutes. Chants of Jai Shri Ram, Har Har Modi, Vande Mataram, Bharat Mata ki Jai rent the air. Devotional songs were also sung.

The PM's call was to showcase the unity of India in its fight against Covid-19 and to express solidarity with the poorest of the poor in the country.
