Eviction at Amchang Reserve Forest is now on it's third day and is being carried out across all illegal commercial and industrial establishments at Jorabat.

The Gauhati High Court after several requests by a bench of Senior Advocates has ordered to put the eviction at Botahghuli on hold.

Speaking to G Plus, Senior Additional Advocate, Devajit Saikia said, “The eviction of the residential structures have been stopped considering the plight of the people. However, the commercial establishments which were built illegally, are being evicted at present.

The State Government is likely to produce an affidavit by tomorrow (Thursday) stating the progress of eviction. After a thorough study of the report, a decision will be taken on the eviction of residential areas.
