FACT CHECK: Foreign National Sent to Quarantine in Guwahati, Not Infected with Coronavirus
GUWAHATI: A recent news buzzing around social media groups and pages that a Russian tourist in Guwahati has tested positive for Coronavirus is raising a lot of questions in the minds of Guwahatians.
G Plus tried to do a "Fact Check" and what we got to understand is that the tourist from Russia has been sent to quarantine and has been asked to stay in a city-based hotel for 14 days as a preventive measure.
Speaking to G Plus, Commissioner of Police, Munna Prasad Gupta said, "The lady has actually been sent to quarantine as preventive measure and she HAS NOT tested positive for Coronavirus."
However, the top cop refused to reveal the identity of the tourist and the hotel where she is being kept.
It is to be mentioned that the tourist did not have any symptoms of Covid-19 so no tests have been performed on her.
