Free Pulse Oximeters to Home Isolated Patients in Guwahati: HBS
GUWAHATI: Health Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma on August 9 announced, "All Covid-19 positive patients who choose to stay in home isolation will be provided with a pulse oximeter and the necessary first-line supportive medicine for free in Guwahati."
The oximeter, used to monitor the amount of oxygen carried by a human body, was initially made a mandatory requirement for all positive patients in-home quarantine.
But the patient was to procure the same at his/her own expense.
However, from August 10 onwards, oximeters will be provided for free by the Assam Government.
"We have also activated the Tele Medicine service for them through 104 and we will expand it further to other places soon," tweeted Sarma.
